China is deeply concerned about this. The Palestinian issue is the core of the Middle East issue, which concerns regional peace and stability. It should not be marginalized, let alone forgotten. The international community should fully recognize the seriousness of the situation and urgently take practical actions to promote the settlement of the Palestinian question to return to the right track as soon as possible. Geng Shuang said that it is urgent to reverse the situation on the ground. Israel continues to expand its settlement activities in the occupied territories, continuously squeezing the living space of the Palestinian people, undermining the coherence of the occupied Palestinian territories and damaging the prospects for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state. China urges Israel to abide by international law, implement Security Council resolution 2334 and immediately stop all settlement activities. He said that it is urgent to achieve common security. Since this year, violent incidents have occurred in the occupied territories one after another, and the recent exchange of fire between the Gaza Strip and Israel is worrying. The security of Israel and Palestine is interdependent and indivisible. Both sides should uphold the concept of common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security and find a way to live side by side and coexist peacefully. Relying on the dominant position to seek absolute security can only lead to greater security dilemma. The international community should pay equal attention to the security concerns of both Palestine and Israel. As the occupying power, Israel should fulfil its obligations under international humanitarian law to protect the safety of civilians in the occupied territories. Geng Shuang stressed that it is urgent to promote the "two state plan". The Palestinian question has been postponed for more than 70 years. Piecemeal crisis management and control cannot replace a comprehensive and fair solution. Countries that have influence on Palestine and Israel should bear their due responsibilities, uphold an objective and fair position, and play their due role in promoting the resumption of peace talks between Palestine and Israel as soon as possible. Geng Shuang said that as a strategic partner of the Middle East countries, China has always supported the Middle East countries to solve regional security problems in unity and cooperation, and the Middle East people to explore their own development path independently. China and countries in the region have joined hands to fight the epidemic, jointly build the "the Belt and Road", and actively provide assistance for the development of the Middle East.
