Xiaomi was recently fined 3.2 million euros (about 21.76 million yuan) in Italy. The Italian competition regulator said that when the product (still under warranty) has scratches or other minor defects, the smartphone manufacturer refused to repair the main problem of the phone. Xiaomi responded to reporters that it had noticed the decision of the Italian competition authority (AGCM) and was evaluating the reasons behind it. "We reiterate that Xiaomi has always adhered to legal and compliant operations and complied with the relevant laws and regulations of its business location. We are committed to providing every Italian user with the best possible after-sales service experience." It home learned that the Wall Street Journal previously reported that the Italian competition authority (AGCM) said on Friday that Xiaomi technology Italy Co., Ltd. made "warranty service subject to damage repair beyond the scope of warranty", thereby damaging the rights of consumers. Italian regulators said that Xiaomi's Italian business also charged customers after confirming that the products had no defects or problems, and pointed out that the company should instead verify the existence of potential defects and return the products without any fees, including freight and verification fees.
