The growth retardation rate and low body weight rate of children under 6 years old have been gradually improved, especially in rural children. The report points out that common infectious diseases among children have been effectively controlled. In 2021, the reported incidence rate of notifiable infectious diseases among children aged 0-18 years was 928.16/100000, a decrease of 16.2% compared with 2012. The high incidence of serious birth defects has been preliminarily controlled. According to the report, the coverage of the first dose of novel coronavirus vaccine and the coverage of the whole course of vaccination among people aged 3 to 17 in China reached more than 98% and 95% respectively. In terms of building a child health service system integrating prevention and treatment, the report shows that by the end of 2021, there were 151 children's hospitals in China, with 2.2 beds per 1000 children, an increase of 0.27 compared with 2015. In addition, according to the report, 1379 maternal and child health care institutions nationwide have provided children's mental health services, 318 prefectures and cities have set up psychiatric hospitals, and 2756 districts and counties have been able to provide mental health services, which has initially alleviated the shortage of mental services for children at the grass-roots level. Maxiaowei, director of China's National Health Commission, was entrusted by the State Council to make a report to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on the same day. He pointed out that the current regional and urban-rural children's health status is still unbalanced, and the total amount of children's medical and health resources is insufficient and the distribution is uneven; The child health service network, especially the grass-roots child health service network, needs to be strengthened; The overall scale of children's medication is small, and the clinical trials are difficult. In response to these difficulties and problems, the report puts forward the next work arrangement, including strengthening the guarantee of children's medication, promoting the high-quality development of children's medical and health services, accelerating the work of health services for key groups, and strengthening the construction of children's health talent team.
