Steady improvement! In 2021, the health literacy level of Chinese residents will reach 25.40%

According to the official website of the National Health Commission, the health literacy level of Chinese residents will reach 25.40% in 2021, 2.25 percentage points higher than that in 2020, and continue to show a steady trend of improvement. The monitoring results show that the health literacy level of urban residents and rural residents will be 30.70% and 22.02% respectively in 2021, an increase of 2.62 and 2.00 percentage points over 2020. The health literacy level of residents in the eastern, central and western regions was 30.40%, 23.83% and 19.42% respectively, an increase of 1.34, 2.82 and 2.70 percentage points over 2020. The level of basic knowledge and concept literacy of urban and rural residents was 37.66%, the level of healthy lifestyle and behavior literacy was 28.05%, and the level of basic skills literacy was 24.28%, respectively 0.51, 1.61 and 1.16 percentage points higher than that in 2020. From high to low, the literacy levels of the six types of health problems are as follows: safety and first aid literacy 56.41%, scientific health concept literacy 50.01%, health information literacy 35.93%, infectious disease prevention literacy 27.60%, chronic disease prevention literacy 26.67% and basic medical literacy 26.05%; Among them, the basic medical literacy, safety and first aid literacy and infectious disease prevention and control literacy have been improved. The scientific health concept literacy, health information literacy and chronic disease prevention and control literacy are basically the same as those in 2020. It is reported that the monitoring content is based on the health literacy of Chinese citizens - basic knowledge and skills, covering 1008 towns and townships (streets) in 336 counties (districts) in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government), targeting the permanent population aged 15-69. A total of 66676 valid questionnaires were obtained. (outlook new era)
