The reporter learned from the Transportation Bureau of the Macao SAR Government on the 24th that the SAR government launched a public consultation on the overall land transportation planning of Macao (2021-2030) from May 24 to July 22. It is reported that in order to meet the planning objectives of the national "14th five year plan", the second five year plan for economic and social development of the Macao Special Administrative Region (2021-2025) and the overall urban planning of the Macao Special Administrative Region (2020-2040), the SAR government carried out transportation planning and prepared the overall land transportation planning of Macao in the next ten years. Key work plans include: vigorously develop rail transit and strive to reach about 24 kilometers of Macao's light rail network by 2028; Build additional pedestrian passages, and the planned pedestrian passages and pedestrian overpasses are about 10km; Build new roads and optimize nodes, create three-dimensional traffic, and ensure the overall efficient operation of the road network; Cooperate with the construction and development of Hengqin Guangdong Macao deep cooperation zone, promote the construction of Macao light rail Hengqin line and study the connection through water routes. The Transportation Bureau said that the transportation planning will implement the two policies of "public transport priority" and "vehicle control", develop in the direction of providing residents and passengers with a safer, green, efficient, convenient and accessible land transportation system, and achieve the goal of building a sustainable land transportation system. It is reported that the cross departmental team composed of functional departments related to land transportation will jointly promote the implementation of the plan, inspect and analyze the main indicators and key work plans, evaluate the progress of the plan and the achievement of objectives, and monitor and review the implementation of the plan.
