Uzbek President mirziyov held talks with visiting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the Uzbek capital Tashkent on the 29th. After that, the two sides issued a joint statement saying that they agreed to upgrade the bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Mirziyov said at a joint press conference after the talks that the talks opened a new chapter in bilateral relations. In view of the current high-level cooperative relationship between the two countries, the two sides agreed to upgrade the bilateral relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership. He also announced that Ukraine plans to hold a series of "Turkish culture day" activities in Tashkent and Samarkand, the second largest city of Ukraine, this year. Erdogan expressed appreciation for the reforms successfully implemented by Uzbekistan under the leadership of mirziyoev. He said that Turkmenistan is willing to further expand cooperation with Uzbekistan in the fields of energy, transportation, medical treatment, education and culture.
