The Tourism Administration said that before the Spring Festival, the epidemic situation in adjacent areas eased, relevant measures were relaxed, and there were a series of wonderful New Year activities in Macao during the Spring Festival, which increased the number of visitors to Macao compared with last year's Spring Festival. Among them, nearly 22000 tourists visited Australia on the third day of the new year (February 3), which is the highest single day passenger volume during the golden week of the Spring Festival. According to the information provided by the industry, the average occupancy rate of Macao's hotel industry places (hotels, apartment hotels and economical accommodation places) during the Spring Festival Golden Week was 63.8%, an increase of 15.2 percentage points over the Spring Festival last year. Among them, the average occupancy rate of five-star hotels was 70.3%, up 19.3 percentage points; The average occupancy rate of four-star hotels was 53.5%, up 3.6 percentage points; The average occupancy rate of three-star hotels was 59.2%, up 14.0 percentage points. The Tourism Administration said it would continue to carry out various work to broaden the source of tourists for the mainland market. For example, through cooperation with airlines, e-commerce and online tourism platforms, a series of consumption concessions such as air tickets and hotel accommodation are provided to mainland tourists to enhance Macao's tourism competitiveness. At the same time, the tourism administration will strengthen the publicity and preferential promotion on the social media platform, and deploy a number of projects to attract tourists to Australia after the Spring Festival.
