"Dynamic clearing" is a scientific choice for Hong Kong's anti epidemic

2022-02-08

Recently, the mutation of COVID-19's Hongkong has been spreading rapidly all over the world, and has triggered a new outbreak in Hongkong. The newly confirmed cases in Hongkong have been broken for hundreds of days. The government of the HKSAR has adopted a number of strict epidemic prevention and anti epidemic measures. At the critical moment of Hong Kong's fight against the epidemic, some people distort the meaning of "dynamic clearing", question the epidemic prevention and anti epidemic measures of the SAR government, and irresponsibly propose that Hong Kong should give up "dynamic clearing" and implement the so-called "lying flat" strategy of "coexistence with the virus". If erroneous arguments are allowed to prevail and confuse the public, it will shake the confidence of the whole society in the fight against the epidemic and affect the effectiveness of the fight against the epidemic. "Dynamic zeroing" is not the pursuit of "zero infection", but the general policy of normalizing epidemic prevention and control under the general strategy of "external prevention input and internal prevention rebound". It requires early detection, rapid disposal, accurate control and effective treatment of cases, so that the epidemic does not constitute continuous community transmission, so as to ensure people's life and health and economic and social development. Behind it is the anti epidemic concept of people first and life first, which has also been proved to be able to achieve maximum results at the lowest cost. At present, the epidemic situation is still in the period of global pandemic, and the virus is constantly mutating. The Omicron virus has a fast transmission speed, a large number of infected people, and the severe disease rate and mortality are higher than those of general influenza. Novel coronavirus pneumonia must not be let down lightly. "Dynamic zero clearing" is a scientific and effective strategy for considering all factors in our country at this stage. For Hong Kong, "dynamic reset" is also a scientific choice in line with the actual situation of Hong Kong society. Hong Kong has a large population density, a high proportion of the elderly population and limited medical resources. More than 1 million citizens have not received the first shot of vaccine, and the vaccination rate of the elderly aged 70 or over is low. In addition, Hong Kong is highly open to the outside world, and the risk of overseas import is high. If we give up "dynamic clearing" and choose "lying flat", it can be predicted that the virus will spread rapidly and on a large scale, causing serious damage to Hong Kong's people's livelihood and economic and social development. Only by adopting a proactive "dynamic clearing" strategy can we reduce morbidity, severe illness and mortality, avoid a run on or even collapse of medical resources, and maximize the protection of the lives and health of Hong Kong citizens. Although the epidemic prevention policy tightened in the short term may have a certain impact on the daily life of infected persons and close contacts and the normal operation of many industries, in the long run, this strategy can extinguish the epidemic as soon as possible, minimize the impact of the epidemic on Hong Kong's economy and society, and enable Hong Kong society to resume normal operation and normal external exchanges on the premise of safety. On the whole, "dynamic zeroing" is conducive to the long-term economic and social development of Hong Kong. People's livelihood accounts, long-term accounts and overall accounts should be calculated clearly, and we must not be blinded by temporary difficulties. The successful anti epidemic practice of the mainland and the successful experience of Hong Kong in dealing with the previous waves of epidemic have repeatedly proved that the "dynamic clearing" is scientific, necessary, effective and feasible, and is also in line with the popular will of the people of Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Bauhinia Research Institute randomly interviewed 1063 Hong Kong citizens by telephone from January 24 to 28. The results showed that 67.9% of the respondents believed that adhering to the "dynamic clearing" was more in line with the overall interests of Hong Kong society. They were worried that once Hong Kong mistakenly chose to "coexist with the virus", the epidemic would be out of control, and the life safety of more than 7 million Hong Kong citizens would be seriously threatened. Hong Kong society should strengthen the will and confidence of "dynamic clearing", fully support and cooperate with the SAR government to improve the relevant policies and measures of "dynamic clearing", implement scientific and accurate measures, cut off the transmission chain as soon as possible and put out this round of epidemic. Hong Kong can learn from the useful experience of the mainland, accurately conduct epidemiological investigation, accurately identify close contacts, accurately identify risk areas, accurately carry out medical treatment and accurately implement community prevention and control. We firmly believe that pull together in times of trouble, and unite with all efforts and scientific and precise epidemic prevention, we will be able to win the battle against the epidemic as soon as possible and let the economic and social development return to normal orbit. The Oriental Pearl will surely shine brighter as long as the whole central government is strongly supporting Hongkong. (outlook new era)
