Taking statins is very casual. If you don't want to eat, what consequences will there be? Recently, a study conducted in 257000 patients with dyslipidemia in South Korea showed that failure to take statins will increase the risk of cerebral hemorrhage and cerebral infarction. The study showed that compared with those who insisted on taking statins, those who ate statins "drying the net for three days and fishing for two days" increased the risk of cerebral infarction by 9% and the risk of intracerebral hemorrhage by 37%. For women, not taking statins well increased the risk of cerebral infarction by 17%, while men increased the risk of cerebral hemorrhage by 55%. How much benefit do people with cerebrovascular disease insist on taking statins? Previously, a SPARCL study published in 2020 found that it is beneficial for patients with stroke or transient ischemic attack to insist on taking atorvastatin, and 20 vascular events can be avoided for every 100 people in almost 6 years. Overall, patients taking atorvastatin had 32% fewer vascular events than those in the placebo group, including 24% fewer cerebrovascular events, 46% fewer coronary events and 44% fewer peripheral vascular events than those in the placebo group. The study also showed that atorvastatin was more beneficial for patients with stroke or transient ischemic attack, and could reduce the risk of vascular events by 50%.
