Hong Kong West Kowloon Magistracy ruled on the 8th that 21 defendants were convicted of riots and assaulting police in the Sheung Wan riot case on July 28, 2019, and were sentenced to 30 to 42 months' imprisonment respectively. It is reported that the 21 defendants were charged with participating in the riot with others on July 28, 2019 between Hong Kong's West Street and Queen's street near des Voeux Road West. Two of the defendants were also charged with assaulting the police and possessing radio communication equipment without a license. (Xinhua News Agency)
