Obviously very thin, high blood lipids so high?

2021-12-21

We have a patient who is very thin but has very high blood lipids, including low-density lipoprotein cholesterol as high as 7.8mmol/l, which makes her very distressed. Why? First of all, it is related to heredity. If the immediate family members have hyperlipidemia, the probability of their relatives suffering from hyperlipidemia will be higher. This patient belongs to "familial hypercholesterolemia" and needs long-term combined application of lipid-lowering drugs to reach the standard. When such people are young, their blood lipids will be relatively low because of their better growth and metabolism. With age, the rate of blood lipid clearance decreases, and it is more likely to suffer from hyperlipidemia. Secondly, eat too much calories, eat more and move less. Usually fried and greasy food is never taboo and can be eaten correctly. Although some people are not fat, it does not mean that blood lipids will not rise. As a result, cholesterol and triglycerides accumulate in the body for a long time, and are slowly prone to hyperlipidemia. Finally, the body's other problems are not normal blood lipids, and may also be related to other problems of our body, such as diabetes, hypertension and other secondary dyslipidemia, leading to hyperlipidemia. So how to identify hyperlipidemia? The presence of xanthoma in the corners of the eyes or body folds is a common sign. (outlook new era)
