Iran: the parties to the Vienna talks on the Iran nuclear agreement agreed to give priority to the lifting of sanctions against Iran

2021-12-01

Iran's deputy foreign minister and chief negotiator on the Iranian nuclear issue bageri said on November 30 that the parties to the Iranian nuclear agreement agreed to take the lifting of sanctions against Iran as a priority in the negotiations on the first day of the resumption of talks in the Austrian capital Vienna on November 29. According to Iran's state television reported on the 30th, bageri said that the first day of the new round of talks was "constructive and useful". Solving the unjust and illegal sanctions against Iran must be the top issue on the agenda of the meeting of the Joint Committee on the Iranian nuclear agreement, which was the consensus reached on the first day of the meeting. A special working group focusing on the lifting of sanctions against Iraq will meet on the 30th. Bageri also said that "many peers" welcome Iran's view that it is necessary to ensure that the United States will not impose sanctions on Iran again and that the United States will not withdraw from the Iran nuclear agreement as it did when trump was in power in 2018. Bageri said that the European representative acknowledged in his speech that the main reason for the current situation is the withdrawal of the United States from the Iran nuclear agreement. Therefore, the United States should take the lead in taking action to resume the implementation of the Iran nuclear agreement. In July 2015, Iran reached a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue with the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany. In May 2018, the US government unilaterally withdrew from the Iranian nuclear agreement, and then restarted and added a series of sanctions against Iraq. Since May 2019, Iran has gradually suspended the implementation of some provisions of the Iran nuclear agreement, but promised that the measures taken are "reversible". The talks between the parties to the Iran nuclear agreement began in Vienna in April this year to discuss the resumption of compliance between the United States and Iran. Due to the serious differences between the United States and Iran and the change of leadership of the Iranian government, the talks were suspended after six rounds. A new round of talks was held in Vienna on November 29. (outlook new era)
