Successful registered voters must return to the mainland immediately after voting at the designated control point on the polling day, otherwise the relevant quarantine exemption arrangements in Hong Kong and the mainland will not apply. In order to avoid increasing the risk of virus transmission at the polling station, the polling station will adopt full closed-loop management. At the end of voting time, the polling station will be transformed into a counting station.
