From November 3 to 5, the 26th Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Meteorological business cooperation conference and the 34th Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Meteorological Science and technology seminar were held in Macao. The Guangdong Branch venue was located in Guangdong Meteorological Bureau. The meeting was held in the form of video and presided over by Liang Yongquan, director of Macao geophysical and Meteorological Bureau. Zhuang Xudong, director of Guangdong Meteorological Bureau, Zheng Chuming, director of Hong Kong Observatory, Zeng Cong, deputy director of Guangdong Meteorological Bureau, attended the meeting. Hainan Meteorological Bureau and Guangxi Meteorological bureau attended the meeting as observers. According to the contents of the meeting, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao believe that the three places have good basic meteorological capabilities. They have established a long-term and stable exchange and cooperation mechanism in detection and co construction, data sharing, development of numerical weather forecasting model and improvement of forecasting services, and achieved a series of fruitful results, which has laid a solid foundation for the reform, opening up and development of meteorological undertakings in the three places. With the in-depth promotion of the national Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Bay area strategy, the meteorological disaster prevention and service guarantee in Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Bay area is becoming more and more important. Good progress has been made in the work of the meteorological monitoring, early warning and Prediction Center in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and the preparatory project of the World Meteorological Center (Beijing) Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay division center and the meteorological science and technology integration and innovation platform in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay area has officially started construction. It is reported that during the meeting, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao carefully summarized and discussed the highlights of meteorological business in the past year and the cooperation trend in 2022. Since November 2020, 52 cooperation tasks covering seven major areas agreed by the three parties have been implemented one by one. In 2022, the three parties will continue to comprehensively promote the implementation of the meteorological development plan for Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Dawan District, and carry out closer cooperation in science, technology and business, so as to provide better meteorological guarantee for the high-quality economic and social development and people's well-being in Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and even Hainan and Guangxi. At the science and technology seminar, the participants exchanged 32 academic reports, covering tropical cyclones and their strong convection, rainstorms and extreme weather, remote sensing technology and short-term and imminent forecast, numerical models and weather operations, climate and climate change, in-depth learning, comprehensive application and so on. It is reported that the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Meteorological Technology Seminar and the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Meteorological business cooperation conference are held once a year and are hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in turn.
