With the fourth UNCITRAL Asia Pacific judicial conference jointly organized by the Department of justice of the HKSAR Government and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on January 1, Hong Kong law week 2021 officially kicked off and will last for five days. One belt, one road forum will be held for many judges from different jurisdictions. Zhang Juneng, chief justice of the court of final appeal of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, said that in response to the epidemic, the judiciary has accelerated the use of scientific and technological means to handle Court Affairs, so that the judicial work can continue to be carried out effectively and properly without affecting the requirements of openness and procedural justice. In her opening speech, the Secretary for justice, Ms Eva Cheng, said that the Asia Pacific judicial conference covered a wide range of topics, including bankruptcy and public-private cooperation, in addition to arbitration. One belt, one road forum, the Fourth Forum on "one belt and one road", and the "forum on a journey of sustainable development" are also included in other activities of the law week: International Criminal Law Seminar, online dispute resolution workshop, annual arbitration conference, Hongkong mediation forum. Law week is one of the flagship activities of the Department of justice of the HKSAR government. It has been held in the first week of November every year since 2019. (outlook new era)
