Entering May, the high mountain azaleas in Shennongjia, Hubei Province have entered their peak flowering period, adding infinite vitality to the mountains, rivers, and gullies. Shennongjia is known as the "Hometown of Rhododendrons", with 35 species belonging to 7 genera of the Rhododendron family and 22 species of the Rhododendron genus, with approximately 150 million plants. It is the region with the most concentrated Rhododendron resources, the most primitive population status, and the most native Rhododendron forests in central China. Due to differences in altitude, the azaleas in the Shennongjia area have a flowering period of over three months, with May being the most blooming month, making it the best time for tourists to enjoy the azaleas.
