Reading in the spring light

2024-04-30

On April 29th, the 11 day 2024 Beijing (Spring) Book Market with the theme of "Book Fragrance in Beijing and Reading in Spring" came to a successful conclusion in Chaoyang Park. This spring, Beijing citizens are enjoying themselves while reading, looking at the world between the lines. New books find new masters, while old books meet new confidants. Entering Chaoyang Park with a refreshing aroma of books, the colorful flags on both sides of the path caught the reporter's eye. On the flag, there are slogans written, such as "Returning to Zhining without a five acre garden, the original intention of reading lies in the Yuan Dynasty", "Wrapping one's life in coarse silk cloth, with poetic and scholarly energy in one's belly", "Starting from the old lodging, half studying and half studying.". Remembering these famous phrases from "Reading", "Farewell to Dong Zhuan", and "Sending Off to the Old Mountain Monk", I unconsciously walked to the Beijing (Spring) book market. It is reported that the Beijing (spring) book market has gathered over a hundred publishing institutions, including People's Publishing House, People's Literature Publishing House, Commercial Press, Zhonghua Book Company, and Social Science Literature Publishing House, bringing various types of books such as best-selling books, frequently sold books, and reference books. In addition, cultural and creative products such as bookmarks, folding fans, and canvas backpacks designed and produced around book themes have also added color to the book market. On site, the most popular among readers is the discounted book booth. Of course, what is discounted is price, not quality - the plastic packaging of each book ensures their good appearance and excellent content. Original English books such as "Twilight" and "The Divergent" were sold for ten yuan each, attracting many foreign readers to stop. The 20% discount on the entire venue has made the three floors inside and outside of the Beijing Grinding Iron Culture Company booth full of people, allowing readers to choose their favorite book from the sea of books. "It's cheaper than buying books online usually, it's more cost-effective to choose a few more books," the reporter heard this voice. Read thousands of books and travel thousands of miles. In recent years, people's enthusiasm for tourism has surged, and related books have also gained attention. In the book market, Chongqing, Jiangsu, Inner Mongolia and Xizang volumes of the series of "Redefining the Value of Travel" lined up in a row have attracted readers of different ages. The old man with gray hair held the volume of "Shaanxi" in his hand, and several young readers were reading the volume of "Xizang", planning to travel this summer vacation. In front of the exhibition cabinet of the signature book by famous artists, readers who enjoy literature bought the award-winning works "Baoshui" and "Beishang" from the Mao Dun Literature Award, as well as the novel of the same name in the TV drama "Zhuang Tai". Collecting author signature books has become a hobby for some readers in recent years. Following the road signs, the parents were led by their children to the children's book market. Tens of thousands of picture books and storybooks, deeply loved by young readers and parents. At this book market, multiple exhibitors carefully designed their own logos and seals based on their own characteristics or book themes in advance. So, checking in and collecting stamps also became a joy in the book market. Old books meet new knowledge. This year, the Beijing Spring Book Market saw the grand opening of the first National Exhibition and Sales Conference for Ancient Books. More than 40 antique bookstores, including China Bookstore, Confucius Old Book Network, Tianjin Ancient Books Bookstore, and Suzhou Ancient Books Bookstore, gathered at the scene to bring various new and old books to readers. The Antique Book Exhibition and Sales Annual Conference has launched an exhibition and sales area for antique books, a themed exhibition area, a lecture hall and salon activity area, a high-quality antique book drying area, and a second-hand book purchase and exchange area, which can provide citizens with a "one-stop" experience
