It is understood that digital RMB is a digital legal tender issued by the People's Bank of China and guaranteed by national credit. It is equivalent to physical RMB and has value characteristics and legal compensation. It has characteristics such as payment security and flexible use. In terms of collection and payment, it can achieve offline transfer, settlement upon payment, and exemption from exchange service fees. The cooperation zone attaches great importance to the promotion of digital RMB and has established a pilot work leadership group. It has formulated the "Implementation Plan for Promoting Digital RMB Pilot Work in the Hengqin Guangdong Macao Deep Cooperation Zone", gradually building pilot application scenarios in multiple fields such as government services, wholesale and retail, education and medical care, transportation, tourism and accommodation, smart campuses, and financial services, and steadily and orderly promoting the pilot work of digital RMB. At present, there are 8 operating institutions in the cooperation zone that provide services such as opening, exchanging, and promoting digital RMB, including Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Bank of Communications, Postal Savings Bank of China, China Merchants Bank, and Industrial Bank of China. In order to further enhance the public's application and participation in the digital RMB, and to enable citizens and various business entities to better access the safe, convenient, and efficient payment services brought by the digital RMB, the Office of the Leading Group for the Pilot Work of Digital RMB in the Cooperation Zone advocates that citizens download and install the "Digital RMB" app through the mobile application mall to open their personal digital RMB wallets. If they encounter difficulties during the opening process, they can consult relevant operating institutions. At the same time, relevant units, enterprises, merchants and other entities actively use digital RMB in daily fund settlement, salary distribution, and other aspects, jointly promoting the application of digital RMB in a wider range and field; The operating agency will cooperate with enterprises, merchants and other entities to provide supporting services such as opening digital RMB corporate wallets and transforming the acquiring system.
