On the evening of April 9th, 2024, the Sanya Rose Culture Festival opened at the Yalong Bay International Rose Valley in Sanya. In the next four days, Sanya will hold a series of activities such as the Flower Creative Market, Tropical Rose Tasting Conference, Hundred Flowers Industry Forum, Art Parade Exhibition, and Tropical Rose Art Festival, using flowers as a medium to promote local cultural and tourism economic development. The opening ceremony on the 9th will feature performances that are compatible with the cultural characteristics of both Eastern and Western cultures. There will be performances such as Li ethnic unaccompanied harmony "How Much I Want to Get Close to You" and dance "National Colors". There will also be piano and folk music "Please Come to the End of the World" and "Rose" brought by Bulgarian Rose Queen talent champion Dani. Vice Mayor Fan Wei of Sanya City said in his opening speech that currently, Sanya City is based on its own advantages in resources and location, accelerating the improvement of high-quality infrastructure, optimizing and enhancing the international allocation level of tourism elements, and vigorously building an international tourist destination. The purpose of hosting this Rose Culture Festival is to assist in the high standard planning and construction of the Sanya Yalong Bay Expo Area, create a national 4A level tourist attraction here, and transform the Rose Culture Festival into a distinctive urban IP in Sanya. Mauritius has a rich history of rose culture. Mauritian Ambassador to China Wang Chunwan said at the opening ceremony that there will be a variety of activities during the 2024 Sanya Rose Culture Festival, covering painting, poetry, and environmental protection, showcasing the sustained influence of cultural exchange and celebration. Mauritius and Hainan have the potential to further strengthen trade, commerce, and tourism. I hope that both sides can work together, make progress together, and usher in a dynamic economy of development and prosperity. At the opening ceremony that evening, a signing ceremony for key investment projects in Sanya City was also held, with a total of 8 units signing contracts with Sanya City, covering industries such as digital economy, cultural and tourism consumption, bulk trade, and gold and jewelry.
