The People's Liberation Army stationed in Macau participates in voluntary blood donation activities

2024-04-07

On April 3rd, the People's Liberation Army stationed in Macau recently participated in a voluntary blood donation activity by the Macau SAR government in the Taipa Camp. Nearly 200 officers and soldiers donated nearly 70000 milliliters of blood to their Macau compatriots without compensation. At the blood donation ceremony, the Social and Cultural Department of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government issued a blood donation thank-you certificate to the stationed troops in Macau, highly acknowledging the contributions made by the stationed officers and soldiers to the medical and health cause in Macau. As a resident soldier in Macau, I am very happy to participate in this voluntary blood donation activity and contribute my love to the compatriots in Macau. Sergeant Zeng Zhonghua, a second level sergeant in a certain company, had just completed his field training when he signed up to participate in voluntary blood donation. According to Li Yuan, the director of a certain unit of the Macau Garrison, every time blood donation is free of charge, officers and soldiers enthusiastically sign up. This year, the stationed troops have appropriately increased the number of blood donors, conducted medical examinations for registered officers and soldiers in advance, carried out education on voluntary blood donation, clarified the conditions and precautions for blood donation, and ensured the quality of blood sources and the safety of blood donation. Since its entry, the troops stationed in Macau have actively participated in voluntary blood donation activities, with a total of about 2400 people donating more than 900000 milliliters of blood to Macao compatriots. According to the staff of the Macao Special Administrative Region Blood Donation Center, the blood donated by officers and soldiers without compensation will be used for the treatment of patients with cancer, excessive blood loss during surgery, anemia, and congenital diseases in Macau. In addition, the troops stationed in Macau actively participate in public welfare activities such as voluntary tree planting and caring for the elderly and children, which have been widely praised by various sectors of Macau society.
