Hong Kong establishes an International Institute Against Corruption to promote global anti-corruption cooperation

On the 21st, the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) established the International Institute Against Corruption (ICAC) with the aim of providing professional training for anti-corruption personnel from around the world, promoting the exchange of anti-corruption experiences among experts and scholars at home and abroad, and consolidating Hong Kong's international position in anti-corruption construction. The 50th anniversary celebration banquet of the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption and the establishment ceremony of the Hong Kong International Institute Against Corruption were held at the headquarters of the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption, attended by representatives of law enforcement agencies from multiple countries and regions, foreign consuls in Hong Kong, and professionals from the political and business sectors. Hong Kong is widely recognized as one of the world's cleanest cities. In his speech, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Lee Ka chao, expressed that the SAR government is proud of the rule of law, clean public services, fair business environment, and values of integrity, respect, and fairness that have been established in Hong Kong for a long time. In the future, he will continue to work together with all sectors of society and colleagues around the world to cultivate a culture based on integrity. He stated that the establishment of the college will strengthen Hong Kong's position as a center for anti-corruption construction, and promote Hong Kong's values of a clean environment, social stability, rule of law, and integrity. Hong Kong Commissioner Against Corruption, Ho Ying ming, stated in his speech that the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) understands the importance of international cooperation in anti-corruption work and has actively participated in global anti-corruption cooperation. The Hong Kong Institute of International Against Corruption will provide systematic and strategic training courses for anti-corruption personnel from around the world, and gather scholars from home and abroad to share and exchange anti-corruption experiences here. It is reported that the college has jointly organized the first official course with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, providing training to 35 anti-corruption professionals from 17 countries. At the ceremony, the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) also signed memorandums of cooperation with Tsinghua University, Peking University, University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and University of Macau to strengthen anti-corruption research in multiple fields.
