2024-01-17

On the morning of January 16th local time, Premier Li Qiang attended the 2024 Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum at the Davos International Convention Center and delivered a special speech. Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, presided over the event. Li Qiang stated that the theme of this annual meeting is "rebuilding trust", which is very in line with people's concerns. Trust is built on our vision for a better future for humanity and our willingness to work together towards it. All parties should put aside their prejudices, bridge their differences, treat each other with sincerity and move towards each other, unite and work together to solve the trust deficit. Li Qiang put forward five suggestions on rebuilding trust, strengthening cooperation, and promoting world economic recovery: first, strengthen macroeconomic policy coordination, firmly maintain the multilateral trading system, and better gather the joint forces of world economic growth. The second is to strengthen international industrial division of labor and cooperation, firmly promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, and effectively maintain the stability and smoothness of global industrial and supply chains. The third is to strengthen international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation, work together to create an open, just, and non discriminatory environment for scientific and technological development, and break down barriers that restrict the flow of innovative factors. The fourth is to strengthen cooperation in green development, break down various green barriers, jointly promote green transformation, adhere to the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities, and actively respond to global climate change. The fifth is to strengthen North South cooperation and South South cooperation, fully implement the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, bridge the development gap, and focus on building an inclusive and inclusive world economy. Li Qiang emphasized that China is a country that upholds its promises and always proves to the world with the greatest sincerity, effort, and tangible results that China is the most trustworthy! China has been an important engine of global development in recent years. It is comprehensively promoting Chinese path to modernization with high-quality development. The industrial foundation, factor endowment, innovation ability and other fundamentals are sound and stable. The overall trend of long-term economic growth will not change, and will continue to provide a strong driving force for world economic development. China has a super large market and is in a stage of rapid demand release. It will form a huge development increment in areas such as new urbanization and green transformation, providing a broader space for world trade and investment growth. No matter how the world situation changes, China will adhere to the basic national policy of opening up to the outside world, and the door to opening up will only become wider and wider. Choosing the Chinese market is not a risk, but an opportunity. We open our arms and sincerely welcome enterprises from all countries to continue investing in China. We will steadily expand institutional openness, continue to reduce the negative list of foreign investment access, ensure the national treatment of foreign-invested enterprises, and continue to work hard to create a market-oriented, legal, and international first-class business environment. After his speech, Li Qiang answered Schwab's questions on global governance and multilateral systems related to artificial intelligence, emphasizing the need to adhere to people-oriented, inclusive and inclusive principles, promote good governance and intelligence, and guide the development of artificial intelligence towards a direction conducive to the progress of human civilization; True multilateralism should be based on the basic principles of international relations based on the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, and China itself should not engage in "breaking treaties and withdrawing from the group",
