The Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee held a full day meeting on January 4th to hear reports on the work of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Supreme People's Court, and the Party Group of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, as well as reports on the work of the Central Secretariat. The meeting pointed out that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has specially listened to the work reports of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Supreme People's Court, and the Party Group of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, as well as the work reports of the Central Secretariat, every year. This is an important institutional arrangement for adhering to and strengthening the comprehensive leadership of the Party. Practice has proven that this institutional arrangement is conducive to the Party's overall planning, coordination among all parties, maintaining the Party's unity and strong combat effectiveness, and leveraging the advantages of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics. This meeting is the first time since the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China that the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee has heard reports on the work of five party groups and the work of the Central Secretariat, with the aim of adhering to and improving this system. The meeting believes that since the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, under the leadership of the Central Political Bureau and the Standing Committee of the Central Political Bureau, the new Central Secretariat has actively taken the initiative, conscientiously fulfilled its duties and responsibilities, and has done a lot of effective work in promoting the implementation of the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee, strengthening the construction of Party regulations and systems, guiding the construction and reform of mass organizations. The meeting emphasized that in the new year, the Central Secretariat should focus on the deployment requirements of the Central Political Bureau and the Standing Committee of the Central Political Bureau, fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Second Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee, based on its own responsibilities, strengthen political responsibility, solidly fulfill its duties, improve the level of deliberation and handling affairs, highlight key points, ensure implementation, and continue to complete all tasks assigned by the Party Central Committee.
