In 2022, Tang Wenbo joined the battery production line of Zhengzhou Yutong Group as a battery structure engineer, responsible for the structural design of new energy vehicle battery packs. To this day, Tang Wenbo still vividly remembers the scene when he first entered the workshop. The entire workshop was bright, tidy, and orderly. A new scene of intelligent and digital production caught his eye. Starting from the unmanned three-dimensional warehouse, 7 AGV carts (automatic guided transport vehicles) continuously transport battery cells from the shelves to the automated production line. 29 robots work together and undergo screening, cleaning, gluing, stacking, drying, assembly, welding and other processes. One new energy vehicle battery pack is produced and then transported to the designated location by AGV carts. "Innovation is the 'protagonist' in the production of science fiction films," Tang Wenbo told reporters. "Here, we can feel the deep integration of the real economy and the digital economy. The automation rate of some production lines is above 80%, and only a few links require manual assistance.". At present, there are many intelligent workshops like this in Henan. According to the statistics of the Henan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Henan has built a total of 1105 provincial-level intelligent workshops and factories, with an average increase in production efficiency of 30%, an average decrease in operating costs of 20%, and an average decrease in energy consumption per unit output value of 10%. What is the secret to robots working in an orderly manner? Tang Wenbo explained that the reason behind this is that the production line planning layout adopts 3D simulation design, and digital virtual verification is first carried out in the virtual factory building. And his position is at the forefront of digital production, where the structural design of battery packs will ultimately be transformed into production data one by one, forming a standard production process. In the workshop, Tang Wenbo introduced his colleagues to the reporter as he walked: "Our battery research and development team has nearly 150 people, of which more than 40% are master's and doctoral students." Currently, his battery production and research and development team has obtained more than 100 invention patents. Looking at the entire manufacturing industry in Henan, the enterprise where Tang Wenbo is located is a microcosm. In recent years, as a major manufacturing province, Henan has actively developed strategic emerging industries such as new materials and new energy vehicles, cultivated future industries, and enhanced new development momentum. Nowadays, more and more enterprises are no longer relying on a large amount of resource and energy input for production, gradually breaking away from traditional development paths and moving towards high-quality development. Taking the new energy vehicle industry as an example, Henan has continuously strengthened, supplemented, and extended its supply chain. It now has 17 new energy vehicle production enterprises, 22 well-known IoT backbone enterprises, and a group of backbone component enterprises, forming an advanced manufacturing cluster from raw materials to core components, and then to complete vehicles, supporting equipment, and IoT. Currently, Tang Wenbo's project team and other scientific research teams are focusing on "vehicle integration" and striving to seize the technological high ground in the field of new energy and intelligent connected buses.
