Türkiye's Unmanned Fighting Vehicles Attract Attention

2023-12-19

With the rapid development of technology, unmanned combat vehicles have become one of the important equipment in modern battlefields. The "Bakan" series of autonomous combat vehicles launched by Türkiye's defense enterprises stand out from many similar equipment by virtue of their performance advantages. The Bakan series of autonomous combat vehicles are designed for future high-intensity battlefields and positioned as multi-purpose tracked combat vehicles. This vehicle can carry various types of ammunition and independently perform tasks. At present, the series of combat vehicles have passed practical testing. The Bakan series of autonomous combat vehicles includes two models, the Bakan and the Bakan-2. Both tanks adopt a tracked design and can be equipped with different modules. Compared with the early model Bakan, the Bakan-2 has a larger chassis, stronger environmental adaptability, and can carry more payload. It can perform tasks such as attack harassment, wounded transfer, bomb disposal, surveillance and reconnaissance, and battlefield loss assessment. The Bakan-2 is equipped with a hydrogen powered launch system, and a single turret can launch various types of ammunition, including cruise missiles and small laser guided missiles, which is the first time in the world. The hydrogen powered launch method eliminates the risks associated with traditional "cold launch" and "hot launch" methods and has significant technical value. The Bakan-2 is equipped with photoelectric sensors, data links, etc., and can be connected to the battlefield combat network. It operates under a unified command system with unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned ships, and other unmanned equipment, timely obtaining battlefield intelligence and instructions. Combined with different mission payloads, it is more flexible in combat use and can adapt to complex and changing battlefield environments, affecting changes in the battlefield situation.
