The first batch of large-scale base projects for new energy with good scenery are facing the peak of production

2023-12-11

As a top priority for the development of new energy in China during the 14th Five Year Plan period, the construction of large-scale wind and photovoltaic bases (hereinafter referred to as "large bases") with a focus on deserts, Gobi, and desert areas is accelerating. On December 10th, a reporter from the Economic Reference Daily learned from the National Energy Administration that the first batch of large-scale base projects has entered the peak period of production, the second batch of large-scale base projects have started construction one after another, and the third batch of large-scale base projects are accelerating the preliminary work. Industry insiders believe that the promotion of large-scale base construction will bring significant increment to the development of new energy, and it is expected that the new installed capacity of wind and photovoltaic power generation in China will exceed 200 million kilowatts in 2023. Considering the current production capacity and industrial chain costs, as well as favorable policy support factors, the development of new energy in the future will be further accelerated, and new energy application scenarios represented by hydrogen ammonia alcohols will accelerate their evolution. On December 10th, China General Nuclear Corporation's 3 million kilowatt wind power project in Xing'an League was fully connected to the grid, providing over 10 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity annually, equivalent to a reduction of about 2.96 million tons of standard coal consumption, a reduction of about 8.02 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, and a contribution of over 5 billion yuan in taxes to the Xing'an League region throughout the project's lifecycle. Li Chuangjun, Director of the New Energy and Renewable Energy Department of the National Energy Administration, stated at the production conference on the same day that Inner Mongolia is a key area for the construction of new energy bases in China. The 3 million kilowatt wind power project in Xing'an League of China General Nuclear Corporation is the largest wind power project with installed capacity in the first batch of large bases in China, and it is also the largest onshore wind power project with a single scale that has been built in the country. It has achieved the first place in multiple industries and has a good demonstration effect. It is reported that this project is the first new energy project in China to use DC 800kV ultra-high voltage for external transmission and consumption. It is equipped with the first 1000MVA (megavolt ampere)/500kV three-phase integrated main transformer in China's new energy industry, effectively driving technological innovation in the upstream of the industry chain. "The full capacity grid connection of the 3 million kilowatt wind power project in Xing'an League marks the completion and operation of the first batch of large-scale base projects undertaken by CGN. At the same time, the second batch of large-scale base projects are also actively arranged." Li Yilun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of CGN, said in an interview with the Economic Reference Daily that this year, the development pace of CGN's new energy has significantly accelerated, and it is expected that the new scale of domestic operation will exceed 10 million kilowatts, By the end of the year, the installed capacity in operation will reach 45 million kilowatts. The "Sago Wilderness" region is rich in solar and wind energy resources, and with the advancement of large-scale base construction, it has become a new blue ocean in the energy field. According to the previous planning and layout plan for large-scale wind and solar power bases with a focus on deserts, Gobi, and desert areas released by the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration, by 2030, the total installed capacity of large-scale wind and solar power bases with a focus on deserts, Gobi, and desert areas will reach 455 million kilowatts. Among them, the first batch of large-scale base projects is about 100 million kilowatts, and we strive to complete and connect them to the grid before the end of this year. Driven by this, the installed capacity of wind and photovoltaic power continues to expand. According to data from the National Energy Administration, as of the end of October this year, the cumulative installed power generation capacity in China was about 2.81 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 12.6%. Among them, solar power generation
