On December 6th, the mascot image "Long Chenchen" of the 2024 Dragon Year Spring Festival Gala on China Central Television was officially released and unveiled. As an important spiritual and cultural symbol of the Chinese nation, for thousands of years, the image of the dragon has permeated various fields such as literature, art, folk customs, architecture, clothing, and painting. The mascot image of the 2024 Dragon Year Spring Festival Gala at the headquarters highlights the beautiful symbolism of good luck, peace, and happiness. The 2024 Dragon Year Spring Festival Gala mascot, inspired by the long-standing Chinese excellent traditional culture, draws emotional resonance from real life. It not only embodies the meaning and beauty of the dragon in traditional culture, but also showcases the uplifting spirit of the Chinese people in the new era. "Long Chenchen" extracts the unique ancient dragon nose as a design element from the turquoise dragon shaped artifacts unearthed at the Erlitou site in Yanshi, Henan. The dragon spine structure and dragon belly pattern are derived from the four door ridges and cloud and thunder patterns on the side of the Western Zhou Dynasty's He Zun, which first recorded the word "China". The decoration on the eyebrow bow and dragon shoulder is taken from the cloud patterned copper forbidden patterns collected by the Henan Museum, which are exquisite and unique, adding fun and ancient charm to the mascot. The nine giant dragons on the Nine Dragon Wall of the Palace Museum are known for their exquisite craftsmanship and majestic momentum. "Long Chenchen" refers to the design of the "Five Claw Golden Dragon" on the Nine Dragon Wall, showcasing its majestic and dignified dragon claw shape. The gilded walking dragon collected at the Xi'an Museum belongs to a typical animal body dragon shape, with a serrated back and a long tail that is rolled up after dragging, representing the advanced metallurgical technology of the Tang Dynasty. "Dragon Chenchen" takes its majestic and vigorous posture with a high head and vigorous gait, exuding a heroic and spirited demeanor. The mascot of the Jia Chen Dragon Year Spring Festival Gala, "Dragon Chen Chen", which embodies countless thoughts and ideas, fully embodies the spiritual beauty and elegance of Chinese civilization. The color scheme of "Dragon Chen Chen", which reproduces the beauty of ancient colors and brings vitality, has selected traditional Chinese colors such as Da Ran, Xie Chi, Xia Xia, Yu Yan, and Chun Chen. The rosy clouds brush the morning and the misty night, representing the red clouds and the youthful colors of the rising sun. Chunchen is the color of the first melting of ice and snow, and the emerald green color it belongs to is the representative color of the Oriental Qinglong. Qinglong is one of the four astronomical phenomena in ancient China, representing spring, hope, and growth. It also gives "Dragon Chen Chen" the vitality of winter passing and spring coming, bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new. The "Dragon Chen Chen", filled with historical beauty and contemporary atmosphere, will accompany you on the stage of the 2024 Spring Festival Gala hosted by China Central Television to welcome the joyful and auspicious Jiachen Dragon Year together.
