In recent years, the economic cooperation between Beijing and Hong Kong has achieved significant results in mutual benefit and win-win situation. The cooperation areas have gradually expanded from traditional trade and investment to finance, technology, culture, medicine and health, and other fields. The investment direction has shifted from one-way input from Hong Kong to two-way investment between the two regions, sharing development opportunities. According to the organizer, over the past 26 years, the Beijing Hong Kong Fair has signed more than 570 projects with a contract amount of over 110 billion US dollars. From January to September 2023, Hong Kong established 424 enterprises in Beijing, with an actual utilization of foreign investment of 9.26 billion US dollars, accounting for 84.8% of Beijing's actual investment, ranking first. "This year's Beijing Hong Kong Fair is once again being held in Hong Kong, which has brought great convenience for us to have a detailed understanding of the resources and advantages of various regions in Beijing, and to deepen exchanges and cooperation." Yang Lishan, President of the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce, said that under the synergy effect, the two cities of Beijing and Hong Kong have made good use of their respective advantages in scientific research resources, talents, funds, and market space, and carried out deep links, thereby maximizing complementary effects. "The Beijing Hong Kong Fair has provided us with a valuable platform for communication with the financial and innovation sectors in Hong Kong." Wang Xiahong, International Business Director of Galaxy Aerospace, a private commercial aerospace enterprise from mainland China, said that Beijing and Hong Kong respectively have the positioning of an international technology innovation center and an international innovation technology center. We look forward to complementary advantages between the two places and accelerating the construction of a Beijing Hong Kong technology collaborative innovation platform. As the first bilateral investment and exchange event between Beijing and Hong Kong held after the end of the epidemic, this year's Beijing Hong Kong Fair has achieved fruitful results. During the conference, 161 two-way investment projects were announced, with a total investment amount of 50.37 billion yuan, involving four categories: enterprise financing, park cooperation, building cooperation, and land financing, covering industries such as new generation information technology, medicine and health, intelligent manufacturing and equipment. Industrial cooperation is an important part of Beijing Hong Kong cooperation. During the negotiation meeting, 34 projects including Taikoo Group's Yidi Port Phase II project and Fengtai Station City Integration project were signed on site, with a signed amount of RMB 67.22 billion. The quantity and amount are both higher than the previous edition, covering multiple fields such as business services, technology services, cultural tourism, and digital economy. It is reported that there are currently as many as 3900 Hong Kong funded enterprises in Chaoyang District, Beijing. At the Beijing Hong Kong Fair, Chaoyang District held the largest district level special promotion event. Nie Jieying, Executive Deputy District Mayor of Chaoyang District, introduced that during the current Beijing Hong Kong Fair, Chaoyang District signed a total of 14 projects, covering fields such as commerce, finance, and technology. Shi Ronghuai, President of the Hong Kong Beijing Association of Societies, stated that Hong Kong can fully leverage its financial advantages to provide financing channels and international investment opportunities for enterprises in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region; At the same time, it can also leverage the unique advantages of Beijing and Hong Kong in terms of technological innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem
