The reporter learned from a press conference held by the Shenzhen Municipal Government Information Office on November 13th that the 5th World Forum on Science and Technology and Development will be held in Shenzhen from November 23rd to 25th. This forum continues the theme of "openness, trust, and cooperation", with "technology empowers development and seeks the future of the Bay Area" as its annual theme. Discussions will be conducted around four major themes: exploring the forefront of technology, promoting development through technology, addressing challenges through technology, and effective governance through technology. The forum consists of one main forum and 11 parallel sub forums, inviting around 200 world-renowned scientists, educators, economists, entrepreneurs, and leaders of important scientific and technological organizations from over 20 countries and regions to attend. Turing Prize winner Jack Tangara, Nobel Prize winner Thomas Sargent, Thomas Sudkhov, Erwin Nell Stefan Hale and other top scientists, as well as representatives from the government and business sectors, will participate in keynote speeches, high-end dialogues, and other segments, focusing on hot topics in technological development and sharing exciting perspectives. The forum will be held online and offline simultaneously, facing global online live streaming. The 5th World Forum on Science, Technology and Development was co sponsored by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Guangdong Provincial People's Government and the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government.
