According to the press conference of the State Council Information Office held on October 30, the first "the Belt and Road" Science and Technology Exchange Conference will be held in Chongqing from November 6 to 7. The conference will work with the countries that jointly build the "the Belt and Road" to summarize the progress and effectiveness of scientific and technological innovation cooperation, jointly discuss the trend and direction of scientific and technological innovation development, and jointly discuss key measures to promote high-quality development of the innovative Silk Road. Zhang Guangjun, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the proposal to jointly build the "the Belt and Road". As a key force to promote economic development, improve people's livelihood and respond to global challenges, scientific and technological innovation is a key area of joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" and a key direction of common concern of all countries. Over the past 10 years, with the joint participation and promotion of all parties, the "the Belt and Road" scientific and technological cooperation mechanism has been deepening, scientific researchers have been more closely connected, and scientific and technological cooperation has become increasingly fruitful. As of now, China has signed intergovernmental scientific and technological cooperation agreements with more than 80 co construction countries, jointly building a comprehensive, multi-level, and wide-ranging scientific and technological cooperation pattern, and bearing solid and heavy cooperation fruits. In terms of jointly promoting cultural and cultural exchanges, China has deepened comprehensive scientific and technological exchanges with co built countries. China supports over 10000 young scientists from co built countries to come to China for short-term work and exchanges, and has trained 16000 co built country science and technology and management personnel; In terms of jointly improving scientific research capabilities, China and the co construction country have implemented several batches of joint research plans, and jointly built more than 50 "the Belt and Road" joint laboratories in agriculture, medical care, information, new energy, basic research and other fields, as well as 10 teaching and cooperation centers for marine surgery. In terms of jointly serving the improvement of people's livelihoods, China and the co construction countries support the construction of a number of cooperation platforms, including the Public Health Science and Technology Cooperation Center, Agricultural Technology Demonstration Center, Fungus and Grass Technology Demonstration Center, Seawater Aquaculture Research Center, and Mountain Disaster Research Center. At the same time, they have implemented a number of "small and beautiful" cooperation projects to promote scientific and technological achievements that benefit more people; In terms of jointly supporting industrial development, China and co constructing countries are promoting cooperation in science and technology parks and demonstrating technology transfer in multiple fields. China has built 9 cross-border technology transfer centers for regions such as ASEAN, Arab countries, and Africa, and jointly built a wide range of technology transfer networks with other countries to serve industrial upgrading in various countries; In terms of jointly promoting the inheritance of civilization, China and co constructing countries have carried out joint archaeological and cultural relic protection research cooperation, exploring the diverse and brilliant historical features of the Silk Road while showcasing the harmonious poetry of mutual learning among civilizations. It is reported that this conference is co sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, and supported by the National Development and Reform Commission.
