According to reports from India's EurAsian Times on the 22nd and the US Power website on the 18th, the US Marine Corps has recently tested an armed "robot dog" (also known as a "war dog") that can work in conjunction with infantry. This "robot dog" can also launch rockets, which is similar to Boston Power's "Spot" autonomous robot. However, both of the aforementioned media reported that the "robot dog" tested by the US military is called Unitree Go1, which is made in China and can be purchased in stock on e-commerce websites. US Marine Corps testing Chinese made Unitree Go1 quadruped robot source: According to the Eurasian Times, this Unitree Go1 can be purchased on e-commerce websites such as Amazon. The styles sold online include a basic version of Go1 Air priced at $2700 and an upgraded version of Go1 Pro priced at $3500. The latter is said to have better sensors that can be used to assist in motion and recognize objects. The report does not forget to mention that this "robotic dog" developed by a private Chinese technology company is mainly used for concept testing by the US Marine Corps, which does not mean that the US military will purchase this robotic dog in large quantities in the future. The future procurement by the US military may be products manufactured domestically or in Japan, the UK, or Canada. According to the report, promotional materials and videos released by the US Marine Corps showcased the maneuverability and carrying capacity of the Unitree Go1 robotic dog. In the video, the Unitree Go1 also carried and tested the M72 Light Anti Tank Weapon (LATW) rocket launcher. The report also mentioned that the test was conducted on September 9th at the US Marine Corps Air Ground Operations Center in California. Scientists from the Office of Naval Research (ONR) of the United States also participated in the testing. The report mentions that the US Marine Corps has verified the ability of this robotic dog to detect and attack targets using M72 rocket launchers. In the video, a Marine controls Unitree Go1 through a console, demonstrating his ability to navigate obstacles and uneven terrain. This robot dog can be used to reduce the burden on infantry, approach and shoot enemy defense fortifications, and attack enemy armored vehicles and other tasks. The Indian media also mentioned that the People's Liberation Army has displayed several biomimetic robots in public images of Chinese media and has put them into urban combat training.
