The first Beijing International Intangible Cultural Heritage Week will be held from October 22nd to 25th at places such as the National Agricultural Exhibition Hall in Beijing. The event focuses on the theme of "Greater Beauty of Intangible Cultural Heritage and Harmony with the World", aiming to build an important platform for international exchange and cooperation in intangible cultural heritage, and promote the better integration of Chinese culture into the world. This was introduced by the relevant leaders of the organizing committee of the first Beijing International Intangible Cultural Heritage Week at a warm-up event held on the 9th. Intangible cultural heritage is an important component of Beijing's historical and cultural heritage. In recent years, the level of intangible cultural heritage protection in Beijing has continued to improve. As of now, 13 projects in Beijing have been included in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity; 144 national intangible cultural heritage representative projects and 303 municipal representative projects. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the UNESCO Convention for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage, the first Beijing International Intangible Cultural Heritage Week, co hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China and the Beijing Municipal People's Government, and organized by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and some provincial and municipal cultural and tourism departments, will be held from October 22nd to 25th at the National Agricultural Exhibition Hall and other places. The opening ceremony of this year's Beijing International Intangible Cultural Heritage Week takes "inspiring the world" as the theme, showcasing the cultural and artistic characteristics of different countries and regions through performances of drum and dance intangible cultural heritage from home and abroad, demonstrating an inspiring and uplifting spirit, and depicting a beautiful picture of different civilizations and their integration. The Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition consists of four parts: "Preface Hall", "International Exhibition Area", "China Exhibition Area", and "Intangible Cultural Heritage+Tourism" promotion. It comprehensively showcases the theme of "Beautiful Intangible Cultural Heritage and Harmony with the World" through video broadcasting, graphic and textual exhibitions, exhibition performances, on-site activities, and publication promotion. Among them, the preface hall comprehensively showcases the high importance and warm care of the Party and national leaders towards the protection of intangible cultural heritage through video exhibitions, graphic and textual exhibitions, and exhibition exhibits. With the theme of "beauty and cooperation", the international exhibition area invites nearly 20 countries and regions, including countries co constructing the "the Belt and Road", to participate in intangible cultural heritage projects. The Chinese exhibition areas are respectively themed with "Xuanpu Jiyu - Beijing Tianjin Hebei Intangible Cultural Heritage Joint Exhibition" and "Tea and the World - Chinese Traditional Tea Making Techniques and Related Customs that Affect the World". The Beijing Tianjin Hebei Intangible Cultural Heritage Joint Exhibition focuses on showcasing the historical heritage and cultural landscape of the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, which is connected by mountains and rivers and connected by humanities, through exhibits display, live interaction, scene restoration, and immersive experience; The "Tea and the World" exhibition area focuses on the Canal Tea Road, Wanli Tea Road, and Haisi Tea Road, showcasing the charm of tea culture through static displays, live performances, and interactive experiences of intangible cultural heritage set up in 16 provinces and cities with tea as the theme. The promotion of "Intangible Cultural Heritage+Tourism" adopts methods such as promotion, exhibition, and performance to showcase the integration of intangible cultural heritage into modern life
