The Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Chen Maobo, stated on the 4th that Hong Kong has developed well in green finance and has become an Asian green finance center. On the same day, Chen Maobo attended the "2023 Hong Kong Green Finance Association Annual Forum" and delivered a speech stating that the total amount of green and sustainable bonds issued in Hong Kong last year exceeded 80 billion US dollars, an increase of over 40% year-on-year. The issuance scale accounted for about one-third of the entire Asian market, fully demonstrating Hong Kong's leading position as a green service provider in the region and reflecting mainland enterprises' trust in Hong Kong in green financing. Chen Maobo said that Hong Kong is keen to contribute to the global green transformation, and welcomes ASEAN, the Middle East and the "the Belt and Road" countries to use Hong Kong's financial services.
