The 34th Guan Gong Cultural Tourism Festival opened on the evening of the 21st in Yuncheng, Shanxi, the hometown of Guan Gong. Yuncheng is the hometown of Guan Yu, a famous Shu Han general in the Three Kingdoms period. The customs of Guan Gong are widely spread both domestically and internationally, becoming one of the representatives of Chinese national culture and included in the national intangible cultural heritage list. For many years, the spirit of "loyalty, righteousness, benevolence, bravery, propriety, wisdom, and trustworthiness" of Guan Gong has become a spiritual bond to enhance the emotional, cultural, and ethnic identity of Chinese people worldwide. That evening, the opening ceremony was divided into four chapters: the prologue "Unusual Family and Elegant Group", "Jingzhong Guan Sun", "Yi Bing Qian Kun", "De Pei Ni Shan", and "Magnificent and Magnificent", as well as the ending "The Four Seas Together Admire". Through the form of "technology+art", the cultural relics collected in the ancestral temple of Emperor Guan in Jiezhou were put on the dance stage, telling a thousand year long history and story, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in the charm of the integration of the spirit of Duke Guan of Yuncheng and modern culture. At the opening ceremony, four units, including the Shanxi Guild Hall in Haicheng, Liaoning, Dengyongwu Temple in Hui'an, Quanzhou, Fujian, Guandi Temple in Tushan, Jiangsu, and Foxconn (Jincheng) Science and Technology Industrial Park, were awarded the "Guan Gong Cultural Exchange Base" plaque. The theme of this Guan Gong Cultural Tourism Festival is "Inheriting Guan Gong Culture and Creating Modern Civilization Together", and it will be held from the 21st to the 23rd. During this period, a series of activities will also be held in the local area, including the 2023 "Qianqiu of Loyalty and Righteousness" Cross Strait Guan Gong Culture Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition, the "Guan Gong Culture and Modern Chinese Civilization" seminar, the "Hello Guan Gong" short video competition, and the Guimao Year Folk Group Worship Ceremony for Guan Gong.
