Li Hongzhong leads the National People's Congress delegation to visit Serbia

Li Hongzhong, member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, led a delegation of the National People's Congress to visit Serbia from September 19th to 21st. In Belgrade, Li Hongzhong met with Serbian Prime Minister Brnabic, Serbian Kadima Party Chairman, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Vucevic, and held talks with National Assembly Speaker Olic; In Novisad, met with Pastor, Chairman of the Autonomous Provincial Council of Vojvodina. The world is facing unprecedented changes in a century, and the two countries need to continue to enhance political mutual trust, firmly support each other on issues related to each other's core interests and major concerns, deepen practical cooperation, and promote the further consolidation of China Serbia relations. The National People's Congress of China is willing to work with the Serbian National Assembly to implement the consensus of the leaders of the two countries, close high-level exchanges, strengthen legislative cooperation and exchange of experience in governance, and make positive contributions to promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Serbia. The Serbian side stated that Serbia attaches great importance to its steel friendship with China and firmly supports China in safeguarding its sovereignty, security, and development interests. Serbia sincerely admires China's development achievements and is willing to further deepen cooperation in various fields such as economy, trade, investment, science and technology, and humanities between Serbia and China, strengthen exchanges between legislative bodies and political parties, and continue to write a new chapter in the traditional friendship between the two countries. Li Hongzhong and his delegation also went to the former site of the Chinese Embassy in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia to pay tribute to the martyrs who died in the embassy bombing incident.
