2023-08-21

The reporter recently learned from the 2023 China Computing Power Conference that in recent years, China has introduced a series of important policy measures and implemented a large number of major engineering projects to accelerate the construction and application of computing power infrastructure. As of now, China's total computing power ranks second in the world, with an average annual growth rate of nearly 30% in the past five years. As of the end of June this year, the total scale of data center racks in use nationwide exceeded 7.6 million standard racks, with a total computing power of 19.7 billion times per second (EFLOPS) and a total storage power of over 1080 exabytes (EB). The construction of 130 trunk optical cables around the computing power hub nodes has significantly improved data transmission performance. Expand the industrial chain and optimize the computing ecosystem. China's computing power industry chain has begun to take shape, with continuous improvement in computing infrastructure, platforms, services, and operational capabilities, and continuous optimization of the industrial ecology. The overall supply capacity remains leading, the performance of general servers and edge servers has improved, and the competitiveness of domestic brand servers continues to strengthen. The production of computing products such as servers, computers, and smartphones ranks first in the world. High computing power chips are accelerating iterative upgrades, and a number of industry backbone enterprises are thriving. Empowering computing power and accelerating the emergence of integrated applications. Digital government, industrial internet, autonomous driving, smart healthcare... With the accelerated expansion of computing power to various industries and fields such as government, industry, transportation, and healthcare, the Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence, and the real economy are further integrated and developed, constantly giving birth to new technologies, models, and formats, helping various industries accelerate digital and intelligent transformation. The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that the next step is to optimize the layout of infrastructure, accelerate the construction of a national hub for integrated computing power networks, focus on building data center clusters, and promote efficient complementarity and collaborative linkage of computing power between the East and the West; Accelerate the research and development of key technologies, fully leverage the traction role of "chain owners" enterprises, gather scientific and technological forces around key links such as computing, network, and storage, increase research and development investment, and guide the effective connection and integrated development of upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain.
