Over the past three years, the national procuratorial organs have handled a total of 365000 public interest litigation cases in the fields of ecological environment and resource protection, food and drug safety, issued 247000 pre litigation procuratorial recommendations, and filed 25000 lawsuits. The special supervision activities revolve around prominent issues in the fields of ecological environment and resource protection, as well as food and drug safety. In terms of ecological environment and resource protection, the procuratorial organs have strengthened the protection and utilization of water environment and water resources, urged the restoration of 1.225 million acres of polluted water sources, cleaned up 34680 kilometers of polluted and illegally occupied rivers, and cleaned up 503200 acres of polluted water areas; Promote the full chain rectification of solid waste, supervise the removal and treatment of 7.103 million tons of illegal domestic waste, covering an area of 237000 acres; Strengthen legal supervision of illegal activities in mineral resources, closely monitor issues such as environmental pollution caused by illegal dumping, non-compliance of tailings storage facilities with relevant requirements, and comprehensive improvement of tailings pond environment, and file 2630 cases; Weave a dense wildlife judicial protection network, closely monitor illegal hunting, transportation, and delivery of wildlife, damage to wildlife habitats, artificial breeding and raising of wildlife that do not meet relevant requirements, and illegal consumption of wildlife. 17724 cases have been filed. In the field of food and drug safety, procuratorial organs continue to increase their supervision over the online and offline sales of edible agricultural products and food that do not meet safety standards, crack down on false advertising and illegal advertising of health food, increase their efforts to handle outstanding issues such as the sale of counterfeit drugs and substandard drugs, as well as the illegal sale of drugs, anesthetics, and psychotropic substances, and strengthen legal supervision over drinking water safety. In the past three years, the national procuratorial organs have focused on special supervision activities to designate 198000 cases in key areas such as illegal discharge of pollutants into water bodies and drug safety, issued 136000 pre litigation procuratorial recommendations, and filed 15000 lawsuits. At the meeting, 12 typical cases were also released, including 8 cases related to ecological environment protection and 4 cases related to food and drug safety. This batch of typical cases covers various key areas determined by special supervision activities, focusing on traditional areas and expanding in specific fields and matters. For example, in the field of food and drug safety, emphasis is placed on strengthening the protection of the rights and interests of some special groups, more comprehensively safeguarding social and public interests, and allowing various different groups to better and fully enjoy the fruits of economic and social development.
