The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced on the 7th that, after consultation and agreement between the governments of Hong Kong and Macao, the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge cross-border truck arrangement has been officially implemented. The Macau Port cross-border cargo transfer station will be put into operation on August 8th, making it more convenient to transport goods between Hong Kong and Macao. At that time, Hong Kong trucks can deliver and receive goods from Hong Kong via the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge to the Macau Port Transfer Station, and can also transport goods from Macau back to the port at the same time; After arriving in Hong Kong through the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, Macau trucks can go to the logistics facilities located at Hong Kong International Airport to deliver and receive goods, and can also transport goods from Hong Kong to Macau back to Macau at the same time. This arrangement will also expand the customer network of logistics facilities at Hong Kong International Airport. The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Li Jiachao, stated that the relevant arrangements are important policies that help promote exchanges between Hong Kong and Macao, as well as the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, activate the economy, and strengthen integration. They are also a new and important measure to strengthen logistics facilities between Hong Kong and Macao, providing greater convenience and efficiency for cross-border freight transportation between Hong Kong and Macao, which currently relies mainly on sea transportation. The governments of Hong Kong and Macao have signed an agreement on this matter. The Director of the Transport and Logistics Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Lin Shixiong, introduced that Hong Kong trucks passing through the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge to load and unload goods at the Macau Port Transfer Station will be exempt from Macau commercial tax registration and Macau driving tax, and drivers do not need to apply for a Macau driving license. The daily limit for Hong Kong trucks to travel to Australia is initially set at about 400 vehicles per day. (New News Agency)
