It gives me great pleasure to attend this evening's event, to celebrate with you the 74th anniversary of the founding of the China and the 26th anniversary of Handover of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, and to witness the inauguration of the second supervisor of the Hong Kong Shandong Association of Societies. I hereby congratulate the new board of directors and supervisors of the Shandong Association of Associations on their smooth work. Premier Li Qiang pointed out during his research in Shandong this year that efforts should be made to create a new platform for international cooperation on the "the Belt and Road", expand cooperation areas, make new progress in promoting high-quality development, and fully recognize the achievements of Shandong's economic and social development. It gives me great pleasure to welcome Governor Zhou Naixiang to Hong Kong earlier. I said to Governor Zhou at that time that the SAR government will continue to deepen the cooperation with Shandong Province in many aspects, provide Shandong with the investment and financing platform and professional service support required by the "the Belt and Road" project, and jointly explore the space for further development. Shandong is a major economic province in the northern part of the country, with a deep agricultural and industrial foundation. Hong Kong is an international financial center with professional services at the forefront of the world. The exchange and cooperation between Shandong and Hong Kong can complement each other's advantages, fully showcase their strengths, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. The cultural exchange between Hong Kong and Shandong has a long history. As early as over a hundred years ago, many Lu children from Weihai Wei in Shandong Province came to Hong Kong to participate in police work and maintain public order. Afterwards, many Lu police officers took root in Hong Kong and made contributions to this homeland generation after generation. Today, the communication between Hong Kong and Shandong is becoming increasingly close, and Shandong compatriots and enterprises are fully utilizing the advantages of Hong Kong's "one country, two systems" to expand their careers in Hong Kong and go global. Since its establishment in 2021, the Hong Kong Shandong Association has adhered to the principles of "patriotism, unity, development, and win-win", committed to caring for and uniting local residents of Shandong, and promoting economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between Shandong and Hong Kong. The Association will carry out "Mount Taishan Care Action" to organize volunteers to go deep into the community and send care and warmth. The association actively responds to various activities such as the "Local Cultural Heritage Exhibition" organized by the SAR government, promoting traditional culture in our hometown, and making Hong Kong citizens aware of the local customs and traditions of Qilu. I am sure of your work. Looking forward to the future, I firmly believe that there will be broader cooperation space between the two regions, and I also hope that the Association can continue to play the role of local communities as a platform to promote the interaction between talents and industries in Hong Kong, add new impetus to Hong Kong, bring new opportunities to our hometown, and contribute to the high-quality development of the country.
