The Secretary of the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau of Hong Kong met with representatives of Guangdong Youth Federation

Mai Meijuan, Director of the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau (Youth Bureau), met today (August 1) with representatives of the Guangdong Youth Federation (GDYF) and youth federations in relevant cities to exchange views on promoting youth development and exchanges between Guangdong and Hong Kong. Liang Hongzheng, Deputy Director of the Democratic Youth Bureau, also attended. She stated that the relationship between Guangdong and Hong Kong is inseparable, and the Guangdong Youth Federation is an important working partner of the Democratic Youth Bureau, which has been supporting Hong Kong's youth work in various aspects. With the full resumption of personnel exchanges between Hong Kong and the mainland at the beginning of this year, the Youth Bureau of the People's Republic of China and the Guangdong Youth Federation restarted the "Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Youth Palace Internship Program" and the "Sichuan Wolong National Nature Reserve Youth Internship Program" to promote youth exchanges between the two places, while providing youth with diversified, distinctive and in-depth thematic internship opportunities, further promoting Hong Kong youth to understand the country and encouraging them to integrate into the national development. In addition, the Guangdong Youth Federation has also assisted the Democratic Youth Council in organizing a delegation of Hong Kong youth to visit mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area. The Youth Development Blueprint released by the Youth Council at the end of last year proposed to further strengthen the breadth and depth of internship and exchange programs in the mainland and overseas, and expand the development opportunities of Hong Kong youth in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. Mai Meijuan hopes to strengthen cooperation with the Guangdong Youth Federation and various city youth federations, and jointly promote the development and exchange of youth between the two regions.
