The nine red stars on the plane mark that the aircraft has the record of shooting down and injuring nine enemy aircraft. Its pilot is Wang Hai, the volunteer air combat hero who has been awarded the title of "First class combat hero of the People's Volunteer Army". Wang Hai, a native of Weihai, Shandong Province, was a former air force commander and general. He joined the CPC in September 1945, joined the army in June 1946, and became a fighter pilot of the Republic's air force after graduating from the Northeast Old Aviation School in May 1950. In late October 1950, as the captain of the First Brigade of the 9th Regiment of the 3rd Aviation Division, Wang Hai shouldered the expectations of the Party and the Chinese people and flew to the smoke filled front line of North Korea, achieving remarkable results and showing his prowess. On November 18, 1951, the US military sent planes to Chongchon River to bomb railway targets. Wang Hai led his team to intercept the enemy of the Northern Offenders and engaged in a head-on battle with over 60 US aircraft. Even if there is a significant difference in strength between the two sides, Wang Hai and his young comrades are not afraid. Taking advantage of the strong vertical mobility of the MiG-15 fighter jet, they repeatedly penetrate the opponent's fleet, disrupting the enemy's formation and launching fierce attacks. In just ten minutes, Wang Hai shot down two enemy planes. His team shot down a total of 5 enemy planes, but there were no casualties of his own. Afterwards, Wang Hai wrote this sentence: "The Chinese military can grow from scratch, from weakness to strength, because every Chinese soldier has a heart that is not afraid of death." The dazzling red star on the fuselage represents Wang Hai's achievements in shooting down enemy planes and showcasing his great spirit of resisting the United States and aiding North Korea to future generations. The smoke of war has long dissipated, and the heroic achievements of the heroes will be forever remembered.
