On June 5th, local time, the opening ceremony of the "Komodo 2023" Multinational Maritime Joint Exercise was held at the Hata Pier in Wanggatse City, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. Our navy's Zhanjiang and Xuchang ships participated in the international fleet review. This exercise will continue until June 8th, including the shore port phase and the sea exercise phase. According to the exercise plan, all participating ships will not dock, and participating officers and soldiers from various countries will transfer to transportation boats to arrive at the event site to participate in civil engineering, expert lectures, civil medical treatment, urban tourism, maritime exhibitions, and cultural and band performances. Subsequently, multinational naval vessels will conduct joint exercises at sea around subjects such as maritime interception, maritime search and rescue, and damage control. After the opening ceremony, our missile destroyer Zhanjiang and missile frigate Xuchang participated in the international fleet review. At around 9 a.m., more than 40 ships from 18 countries were positioned in the anchorage zone, and warships from various countries were flying full flags in accordance with international etiquette. Two patrol ships and multiple small boats from Indonesia form a fleet of inspection ships, inspecting naval vessels from various countries in turn. The Komodo exercise is a multilateral joint exercise organized by the Indonesian Navy, held every two years. The Chinese participating vessels arrived at the exercise rendezvous point at noon on June 4th and, guided by Indonesian naval vessels, anchored at the designated anchorage. The Chinese Navy's fleet set sail on May 31st, and during the voyage, it closely organized training on navigation law, duty officer training, and damage control exercises, effectively testing the ability of the troops to carry out diversified military tasks.
