It is reported that 5G-ATG is based on 5G public mobile communication technology. By setting up special base stations and beamforming antennas that comply with relevant international and domestic regulations along the aircraft route, a ground to air communication link is established between the ground and the aircraft cabin, allowing passengers to access the internet through wireless LAN access in the cabin. 5G-ATG is one of the important technological paths for achieving high-quality development of the aviation internet, and it is also a new application and business format of new technologies such as 5G in the aviation internet field. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has approved China Mobile to carry out the 5G-ATG experiment, which will further enhance the spatial dimension of 5G network coverage, expand the industry application scenarios of 5G, and better meet the growing demand for air access to the Internet by aviation passengers.
