Microsoft's "Search+Browser" Major Upgrade! New Bing is fully open without queuing

2023-05-05

On Thursday (May 4th) local time, Microsoft announced a series of significant upgrades to the search engine Bing and Edge browser on its official website, calling these measures a new round of innovation in artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The press release states that the new version of Bing no longer requires a "waiting list", and users only need to log in to their Microsoft account to access this search engine that combines GPT-4 technology. This means that everyone can now try out the new versions of Bing and Edge more easily than ever before. In addition, Microsoft is upgrading Bing Chat to provide "richer and more intuitive answers" for Bing search, including new forms such as charts and graphics, to help users find the information they want more directly and easily. The press release announced that Microsoft will also integrate Bing Image Creator into the new Bing chat experience, which is compatible with over 100 languages and can generate images through text creation. It is understood that the Bing Image Creator function is mainly based on another OpenAI model, DALL-E. One of the most requested functions for users is to save previous chat records. Microsoft stated that this feature will be put into use "soon", and users can return to the previously paused location after stopping for a period of time during the chat process. Microsoft will also add a feature to quickly export chat conversations, which can be shared on social media and easily transitioned to collaboration tools such as Microsoft Word. In addition, Microsoft will soon improve the "generate large article and file summaries" feature within Edge. In the coming weeks, users will soon be able to rely on artificial intelligence to complete more tasks in fewer steps. For example, if you want to watch a specific movie, the actions in Edge will be found and displayed in the chat section of the sidebar, and then the movie you want will be played. The writing function of the sidebar can now adjust the draft copy according to the user's requirements, such as tone, length, wording, etc. The Edge Mobile mobile browser will also incorporate a "reference page" feature, allowing mobile users to raise questions related to the webpage they are viewing during chat. In addition, Microsoft also stated that it will soon build third-party plugins in Bing Chat to create a platform for developers, such as OpenTable, which can help users find and book restaurant seats. It was also reported that two insiders revealed that later this quarter, Microsoft Azure Cloud Services plans to sell a version of ChatGPT running on a dedicated cloud server, which will be stored separately from other customer data, similar to the "private version" of ChatGPT. According to insiders, the purpose of doing so is to reassure customers that their secrets will not be leaked to the ChatGPT main system. But correspondingly, one of the insiders said that the price of this product may be as much as 10 times that of the regular version of ChatGPT currently used by customers. (New News Agency)
