Along different development paths and overcoming multiple technical challenges, China's anti stealth radar group has made its debut!

With the rapid spread of stealth fighter jets, stealth bombers, and stealth drones worldwide, the real pressure to combat airborne stealth targets is increasing. At the 10th World Radar Expo, which opened on the 13th, Global Times reporters found that China has developed various models of anti stealth radars along different technological paths in detecting stealth aerial targets. The "Energy Anti Stealth Radar" debuted for the first time At this World Radar Expo, the YLC-2E S band multi-function radar independently developed by 14 CETC institutes debuted for the first time. This new technological path of "energy anti stealth radar" has attracted high attention from the outside world. During an interview with a reporter from Global Times, radar experts from the 14th Institute of China Electronics Technology stated that the so-called stealth fighter jet is not actually stealth, but rather uses absorbing materials and special design to minimize the reflected radar echoes, thereby greatly reducing the detection distance of the radar. Therefore, active anti stealth radar can be roughly divided into two paths, one of which is energy anti stealth. He introduced that the principle of stealth aircraft is to minimize the reflected radar echoes as much as possible. If the emitted radar energy is significantly increased, the radar echoes of stealth aircraft will also increase accordingly, so that they can be distinguished by the radar. However, when increasing radar transmission power, there are many limitations in terms of radar size, power, power consumption, and maneuverability. The YLC-2E radar uses advanced third-generation semiconductor materials, achieving extremely high energy application efficiency. In addition, advanced algorithms enable the radar echoes of stealth targets to be accurately identified, making it a representative of energy anti stealth radar. Radar experts from the 14th Institute of China Electronics Technology stated that although the principle of energy anti-stealth is simple to say, a series of technological breakthroughs are needed to be truly practical, especially after the popularization of third-generation semiconductor materials. Nowadays, anti-stealth radars using this principle can only be practical. It is reported that the YLC-2E radar adopts advanced technology system, optimized array size design, and multiple technical means to retrieve the originally "shortened" detection distance. It can effectively detect aerodynamic targets, including stealth targets, while also taking into account early warning detection of tactical ballistic targets and other targets. In addition, the radar adopts building block design technology, and the antenna array is light and thin, giving good battlefield deployment flexibility and battlefield survivability; This radar attaches great importance to the use of AI technology, has a high degree of intelligence, can optimize the scheduling of radar detection targets, and achieve interference signal recognition and anti-interference strategy selection through perception of complex electromagnetic environments, without fear of external interference. Frequency band anti-stealth radar introduces new technologies, and radar experts from the 14th Institute of China Electronics Technology introduce that another technological path for active anti-stealth radar is frequency band anti-stealth. It takes advantage of the characteristic that stealth aircraft have different reflection cross-sectional areas in different radar frequency bands. "The lower the frequency, the larger the radar reflection cross-sectional area. Therefore, using low-frequency meter-wave radar has good detection ability for stealth targets. It is reported that the YLC-8E and other multi type radars exhibited by the 14th Institute of China Electronics Technology belong to the new generation of frequency band anti stealth radars.
