According to the Blue Book, in 2022, more than 3 million new works of Chinese online literature were added, including over 200000 works on real-life themes, a year-on-year increase of 17%. The revenue scale of major online literature platforms exceeds 23 billion yuan. Among the top 10 domestic dramas in 2022, 7 were adapted from online literature; The number of authorized IP addresses for online literature adaptation and anime increased by 24% year-on-year; More than 30000 audio book adaptations have been authorized, a year-on-year increase of 47%. In 2022, more than 2.6 million new registered authors were added to national key online literature websites, a year-on-year increase of 13%; 170000 new contracted authors were added annually, a year-on-year increase of 12%; More than 80% of active top authors are born in the 1990s. Online literature has become a shining business card for Chinese culture to go global. According to Blue Book data, as of the end of 2022, China has exported more than 16000 online works overseas, including over 5000 authorized physical books and over 9000 translated works online; More than 150 million overseas readers and users, covering over 200 countries and regions. The Blue Book also pays attention to the opportunities and challenges brought by the application of new technology to the development of online literature. It points out that while guiding online literature to accelerate the process of mainstream and refinement, it should keep up with the times, adapt to changes, achieve high-quality development, and make greater contributions to the construction of a cultural power.
