The opening ceremony of the "carbon neutrality world in the minds of children in the Greater Bay Area" painting exhibition was held online and offline in Beijing, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao on the 9th. More than 300 excellent works from young people in the Greater Bay Area depict a beautiful scene of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, centered around the themes of scenery and green and low-carbon development in various regions of Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao. Chen Jianxin, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Yang Xiaoling, delivered a speech at the Beijing conference, stating that actively addressing climate change is not only related to the orderly development of the Chinese nation, but also to the well-being of humanity and the future of future generations. To promote green transformation, it is necessary for the entire society to continuously enhance understanding, gather consensus, and take action. The children's paintings on display are lifelike and interesting. They not only depict the green ecological, livable and business friendly living environment in the Great Bay Area, but also actively give play to imagination and creativity for carbon neutrality solutions. These works have condensed the wisdom of children, and also let us have confidence and strength in the cause of carbon neutrality. Huang Chuanhui, climate commissioner of the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, delivered a speech at the Beijing venue, saying that Hong Kong and other cities in the Greater Bay Area can complement each other's advantages and develop together to make contributions to the country in the process of moving towards carbon neutrality. Youth are the future protagonists of the country, and we hope that young people from all over the world can work hard to enhance their understanding and participation in climate change and ecological protection, and work together to promote the country's low-carbon transformation. In the morning of the same day, the 2023 "Towards carbon neutrality Bay Area Youth Travel" Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Youth Cultural Exchange Series theme activities were launched simultaneously. The awarding ceremony of the COP15 entry certificate, the awarding ceremony of the "carbon neutrality world in the minds of children in the Greater Bay Area" painting exhibition and the "Antarctic story" expert dialogue activity were also held in Beijing. One of the organizers of the event and the chairman of Hong Kong Sunny Charity, Mai Lechang, told China News Network reporters that environmental education should start from a young age. Many statistics show that at the beginning of life, one can be exposed to nature, carbon reduction, energy conservation and other environmental protection actions, and grow up to have a better understanding of such undertakings. It is hoped that this activity will promote Hong Kong teenagers to connect more with mainland teenagers and join hands in the national carbon neutrality cause. On April 9, the painting exhibition "carbon neutrality World in the Eyes of Children in the Great Bay Area" opened. The picture shows the public stopping in front of the exhibits to admire. Chen Jianxin photographed 13-year-old Zhou Yanxi from Macau. Her painting "Green Earth Begins with carbon neutrality" was selected for this painting exhibition. She told reporters that when she first saw the theme of the event, she did not understand the professional terms such as "carbon neutrality". After searching on the Internet, she found that it was so important for national development. She hopes to use this work to tell everyone to reduce carbon dioxide emissions
