The interviewee provided a picture: "While organizing the children to queue, I lowered my head and saw the shoes on their feet. The upper was covered in dust, some were torn, some were off line, and it was completely different from the shoes we were wearing." This was the most impressive thing about Ding Yucheng during his trip to Guizhou. Ding Yucheng is a targeted student majoring in clinical medicine at Suzhou Health Vocational and Technical College. After graduation, he will enter the village health station and become a rural doctor. On March 31st, he and other volunteers from the school's "Children's Heart Cooperation Public Welfare Group" went to Naqi Primary School in Longli County, Guizhou Province to conduct a popular science lecture on adolescent scoliosis and provide early screening public welfare services. Ding Yucheng's task is to give popular science lectures to classmates and assist other volunteers in examining children's scoliosis. At first, the children were very shy, "Ding Yucheng said. Actually, they put in a lot of effort on "how to liven up the classroom atmosphere" and "how to explain scoliosis to children" before going. The volunteers brought a spinal model to the primary school. During science popularization, Ding Yucheng placed this model on the podium and showed children the normal spine and the spine with scoliosis problems by adjusting the active spine. The children kept their big eyes fixed on the "white bones" of each section, feeling fresh and curious, and the atmosphere of the classroom quietly became lively. Ding Yucheng introduced that some sixth grade children there are not as tall as those in Suzhou's third and fourth grades. "They stand up in class, stand on tiptoe, and hold their hands high above their heads, hoping that I can ask them to answer questions. In addition, these children also shared their dreams with their "volunteer brothers" in class. "They said they want to become soldiers and astronauts. I told them that only with good posture and normal development can you better achieve your dreams." After the science popularization lecture, the volunteers divided into male and female teams and used professional measurement tools to screen for scoliosis problems among more than 100 children in the school. Peng Shengming, the principal of Nazhi Primary School, said, "The service provided by the volunteers is very good. Through this activity, the teachers and classmates in the school have paid more attention to early screening for adolescent scoliosis." In fact, the "Children's" collaborative public welfare team of Suzhou Health Vocational and Technical College has been exploring the prevention and treatment of adolescent scoliosis for many years. As early as 2019, the "Tongxin Collaborating Public Welfare Group" focused on preventing and treating adolescent scoliosis was born. At that time, the school teacher discovered that a classmate in the class had obvious high and low shoulders, and later learned that he might have had scoliosis during his adolescence. "Lin Qing, Vice Dean of the Clinical Medicine School of Suzhou Health Vocational and Technical College, introduced that since then, the student has developed an interest in studying scoliosis, and he shared the idea of establishing a public welfare group with the teachers of the school's rehabilitation club. With the help of the school, the "Tongxin Cooperative Public Welfare Group" was born. In fact, scoliosis is the most common spinal deformity among children and adolescents. Currently, there are over 5 million primary and secondary school students in China with scoliosis
