If you step into the cockpit, you will be a fighter", which is what Chen Jinlan, a deputy of the National People's Congress and a special pilot of the Air Force Aviation Division of the Western Theater, often said to the trainees. As the first Yun-9 flight instructor and the only female captain of the division, who is competent for teaching all subjects and carrying out diversified military tasks around the clock, Chen Jinlan has flown safely for more than 7000 hours, flying Yun-9 and Yun-20 transport aircraft. Last year, in order to improve the aircrew's air-drop combat capability without command and guidance, ground signs and meteorological data, Chen Jinlan's unit carried out a military competition, and many aircrew competed fiercely around the subjects of precision air-drop and precision landing. In the end, she led the Yun-9 crew to set the record of minimum precision airdrop error. Since becoming the captain of Yun-20, Chen Jinlan has given full play to the advantage of "mutual flight of two aircraft types", and brought the advanced control concept and standardized flight procedures of Yun-20 to Yun-9 flight teaching, helping students better, faster and more safely overcome difficult subjects, and improving the multi-task integration capability of the army. After attending this year's two sessions of the National People's Congress, Chen Jinlan prepared a proposal on the topic of "how to speed up the training of war-type strategic talents", which has been a long-term concern. She said: "To build a strong air strategic delivery force, we must aim at the characteristics of intelligence, informatization and integration, broaden the selection and training channels, accelerate the construction of talent ranks, and build a talent team that meets the needs of future operations."
