Li Keqiang chaired a symposium for people from all walks of life and grassroots representatives

2023-02-08

On February 6, Premier Li Keqiang chaired a symposium to listen to the opinions and suggestions of people from all walks of life and grass-roots representatives on the Government Work Report (Draft for Comments). Vice Premier Han Zheng of the State Council attended. At the meeting, nine representatives, Wang Wei of the Development Research Center, Yao Yang of Peking University, Feng Boming of Sinotrans, Qin Yanbei of Ningbo Essen Jewellery Co., Ltd., He Yaling of Xi'an Jiaotong University, actor Zhang Yi, skier Xu Mengtao, Dong Yan of Yuejin Village Health Office in Mentougou, Beijing, and Zhao Guang of Baotou Wangqi Agricultural Cooperative in Inner Mongolia made statements. Everyone fully affirmed the development achievements of the past year and five years and made suggestions. Li Keqiang communicated with delegates. Over-expected factors such as the epidemic have had a serious impact on the economy. We responded in a timely and decisive manner, implemented the established policies and measures ahead, launched a package of economic stabilization policies and follow-up measures, and held a nationwide teleconference on stabilizing the economy. We will implement large-scale tax rebates, tax reductions and fee reductions, help small and medium-sized enterprises and individual businesses overcome difficulties, and support stable employment and people's livelihood. Innovate policy tools to support major project construction, equipment upgrading and upgrading, and expand investment and consumption. We will focus on food production and energy supply, and consolidate the basis for price stability. We will encourage local governments to adopt policies to stabilize the economy in line with local conditions, and give play to the role of major economic provinces. Through efforts, the macroeconomic market has been stabilized. More than 12 million new jobs have been created in cities and towns. Against the background of high international inflation, domestic consumer prices have risen by only 2%, imports and exports have increased by 7.7%, and the economic operation has remained within a reasonable range. This is not easy, but difficult. The average annual growth of the economy was 5.2%, of which three years were affected by the epidemic. From the perspective of the 10-year long cycle, the economy has achieved an average annual growth of 6.2% and a medium-high growth rate. The annual increase in consumer prices has not exceeded 3%. Enterprises and individual businesses have increased from more than 50 million to more than 160 million. We have innovated in macro-control. The policy is both effective and effective, and has not continued to increase the deficit by a large margin, and has not issued excess currency, which has created macro-conditions for stabilizing prices and left policy space for the future. We should innovate the implementation of macro policies, face the needs of market entities directly, focus on reducing the burden of taxes and fees, and vigorously develop inclusive finance. We should give priority to employment, and all policies should focus on supporting employment. We will promote reform and opening up, adhere to the "two unswerving principles", deepen the reform of streamlining administration and delegating powers, combining decentralization and management, and optimizing services, support mass entrepreneurship and innovation, and further stimulate market vitality and social creativity. The people's livelihood is linked to the people's hearts, and the ultimate goal of economic development is to improve the people's livelihood. Adhere to taking the people's expectations as the goal of governance, work hard to solve key livelihood issues, and secure the bottom line of livelihood. The most important thing in administration is to carry out. We should adhere to the principle of seeking truth from facts, respecting the law, putting our work first, supporting local and departmental creative work, and creating verifiable achievements with our work. We are soberly aware that at present, enterprises, especially consumer services, small and medium-sized enterprises, and self-employed businesses have many difficulties, and the total demand is still insufficient
